Emma and Ivy is nestled within the Adelaide Hills in the picturesque town of Lobethal.
Our building has been transformed from a garage dating back to the 1800’s, to an indoor terrarium of plant life for our community and tourists to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Our business has grown from Emma’s single dream of blooms and coffee into a bustling lifestyle community hub. We believe in uniting communities. Where tense shoulders relax and stress dissolves with soul deep laughter and good old banter. With plants harmoniously climbing the walls, everything is alive.
Not just a standard cafe we also house an extensive range of eclectic wares, gourmet custom hampers, plant studio and a boutique bar/cellar door. Event nights and workshops are held throughout the year.
Who is Ivy? Epipremnum Aureum (common name - Devil’s Ivy) was the first plant housed in our original store, however, now it represents our strong forever growing creative team ‘Team Ivy’.
Team Ivy is built with Adelaide Hills locals who are passionate, talented, energetic, inspiring and motivating.
At Emma & Ivy we strive to produce the highest quality food and beverages using produce that is sourced locally wherever possible. Everything that colours the plate is flavoured with a local story. Local orchards, vineyards, dairies and farms are the pantry for our hills menu.
We support local charities, sports clubs and community events such as the Lights of Lobethal.
We are striving to reduce the impact of our environmental footprint. For takeaway food and beverages we only use compostable or recyclable containers, cups and lids. Our coffee grounds are sent off to nourish local worm farms, the food waste goes to the awaiting free-range chickens, paper and cardboard are recycled and our cooking oil is recycled into engine oil and animal feed.

At Emma & Ivy we use Segafredo Zanetti Massimo Coffee Beans and accompany them with a large range of barista milks; local Tweedvale milk, Milklab Almond, Milklab Coconut, Milklab Lactose Free, Bonsoy and Califia Oat milk. Team Ivy are also passionate about our organic loose leaf ‘Love Tea’ and our vast range of Grounded Pleasures.
The “Massimo” blend by Segafredo Zanetti features some sweet notes and a full bodied selection of high quality beans staying true to the authentic Italian espresso flavour. The blend is sourced from only the best coffee plantations in South America, giving hints of chocolate notes which is pleasing for the pallet.
We fire up our wood oven for regular pizza events. It is our passion to hand craft our bases from scratch, designing each pizza using the freshest of locally sourced fine food produce. We have a dedicated team which are inspired by the simple Italian traditions.
On our event nights you are hosted with a long progressive evening including antipasto, sides, endless wood oven pizza chosen by our chef and accompanied by live music.
The in-house wine bar sets the mood for a perfect catch up with family and friends any time of the day. Enjoy a specialty cocktail, local wine or gin. If beer is your thing, we stock locally made handcrafted beers and ciders. A great way to end your day/evening is with an affogato or espresso martini.
Emma & Ivy is a botanical sanctuary housing a substantial variety of indoor plant living. Our sound knowledge and love for the indoor terrarium is endless. The feeling of gifting and receiving or even adding another member to the family is addictive. We strive to coordinate the perfect combination of plant and pot for the perfect spot. Nestle yourself in our leafy oasis to hand select, or by simply contacting the store to arrange the ideal gift.

They are popular for the hard to buy for, corporate gifts, thank yous, baby welcoming, green thumbs, Christmas and every other special or not even special occasion. Team Ivy will help you select items that suit the recipient, or you can leave it up to the creators to play a game of gifting Tetris. Each item is hand selected and delicately packaged in our sleek black hamper box wrapped with a bow.
You can pick up your hamper from Emma & Ivy or contact us to arrange a local delivery to your loved one. Australia Post delivery available for all other areas (excluding plants), we will quote this upon request.

Two lucky prize winners will be drawn on 31 January 2022 at Emma & Ivy at random from all the entries received instore. Please note that all the information you supply will be solely used by Emma & Ivy and not distributed to other parties. ‘Free coffee for a year’ is defined as: 1 x free coffee daily which must be redeemed at Emma & Ivy 47 Main Street, Lobethal SA 5241. The period to receive your free daily coffee is between 1 February 2022 to 31 January 2023. Coffees are only able to be redeemed within cafe operating hours which are advertised on our website and Facebook page. This prize is not transferrable and can only be redeemed by the competition winners, in person. This prize does not accumulate and any days where the coffee is not redeemed will be considered a forfeit.
Team Ivy develops unique workshops for all of life’s wellbeing, nurturing the heart and soul. It’s a time to take a breath from the hustle and bustle and learn a new skill whether it being plant care, free drawing, mandala, chocolate making, sustainable living, kitchen and garden, basketry, tea making, the list goes on. Our designated workshop space is also available for you to hire for your next event.
